The StorageZone OS is a highly optimized, embedded operating system designed for NAS appliance. In combination with the reliable, powerful StorageZone NAS products, the NAS OS delivers superior performance, enhanced data availability and business continuance, ease of use, manageability, flexibility and scalability.
The StorageZone OS eases storage provisioning and enables data sharing across heterogeneous platform and network environments. In addition to the basic file storing and sharing capability, the StorageZone OS enables extensive high-availability features such as network trunking, multiple data paths, load balancing, and unified security. The StorageZone OS also provides facilities for easy system management and enhanced data resiliency.
The versatile architecture of StorageZone OS delivers excellent performance for large I/O environment, allowing Cold Storage NAS products to meet a range of storage needs, from small remote office and departmental applications, to performance multimedia applications like digital video services.
The StorageZone OS takes advantage of multiple processors and multiple data paths to deliver best-in-class performance. Terabytes of data can be consolidated on a single storage system, making Cold Storage NAS solutions the best choice to meet your stringent storage demand.
Supporting a wide range of file access protocols such as NFS version 2 and NFS version 3, CIFS, FTP, HTTP, SNMP, SSH, Apple Talk and DHCP, StorageZone enables cost effective hetertogeneous data sharing among a variety of operating systems including z/OS, AIX, IRIX, UNIX, Tru64, Solaris, Windows, MacOS, Linux and free BSD.
The StorageZone OS equipped with a variety of business continuity features to help minimize business downtime and maximize data availability.
- Network failover and load balancing
The StorageZone OS provides facilities to aggregate network links for load balancing and failover. The multipath feature enables active-active failover of network links in the event of link failure.
- System clustering
This feature enables high availability configuration between two NAS gateways. When a failover occurs, the surviving system assumes control of the failed system’s IP addresses and volumes to ensure business continuity in such event.
StorageZone OS supports synchronous replication of mission critical application data in a local data center environment or asynchronous data replication to a remote data center. In the event of source system failure or disaster, the copy can be promoted to a production level to ensure data delivery during the failure.
The StorageZone OS enables near-instantaneous file-level or full dataset recovery by transparently storing multiple versions of each data volume.
The StorageZone OS supports integration and interoperability with third-party backup systems. Backups can be performed with tape system directly attached to a Cold Storage NAS system (local), or to the backup server itself (remote), or to another Cold Storage NAS system.
StorageZone OS features a Web GUI that provides the simplicity and flexibility to manage your data, users, services and volume setup.
StorageZone OS offers an integrated system monitoring console to provide network monitoring for traffic and performance, storage usage as well as system resources.
StorageZone OS reduces the complexity of deploying, administering, and managing the storage infrastructure, which can facilitates operation efficiency and maintenance costs.
